This is not good news. Combined with the previous story by Travis Yost it makes you wonder if the front office has the experience to get the job done. Kind of wondered about their first round draft selection from last year.

My best friend is from Winnipeg and is a huge Jets fan. So, naturally I hate the Jets. I hope they lose Pavelec and Kane this summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i like some of the moves the jets did, but i hate some of the moves the thrashers did

you do have some good pieces but i think you need a good draft this year, maybe a good trade or ufa signing and you may be in the thick of things

i like buff, i like bogosian , you have some good depth d, you have good depth in forwards but you are missing that go to guy. Maybe kane can be that guy this year if he stays

the ufa thing is going to be interesting. Do ufas want to go to the peg... i guess we will see

IF the Jets are to evolve they cannot have a off season of making a patchwork quilt in their holes. It starts with Kane and Pavelec being resigned.

I do think the team has to entertain Enstrom being moved, it's a must and then they need to draft Griffin Reinhart!

If these players on the Jets bolt for the KHL, then the Jets are completely franked.

I don't mean to troll or anything of the sort, but what are the odds that Slater will re-sign in Winnipeg? Anyone have any thoughts on that?

UFA's want a chance to win the Cup. The ones that want to sign with a team near the beach are not worth chasing. Just let them retire.

that isnt 100% true

if im an American, or russian or anyone outside of a canadian

I get a 5 million dollar 5 year contract offer from both the jets and the kings

..... waking up to the ocean and 80 degree weather is a bit more tempting than the snow im not going to lie. Also some of those "beach" teams have some very attractive pieces. Stamkos, doughty, kopitar, brown, perry, getzlaf, staal there are some very good players in these warm places some players would love to be linemates with.

What exactly is the point of this blog? That there is no word coming out about RFA's the morning after the finals ends?
There is no word coming out of Toronto or Montreal either.

Pretty sure the club is happy with Scheiefle.
I guess with all the news you are hearing about RFA's throughout the league, It's obviously time to panic.

This is not news........RFA's are quite often difficult to sign for various reasons. Opinions of how good they WILL be are always somewhat varied. How much do you pay for potential? Teams will want to lock up some of their UFA years if committing long term, but the player always wants high dollars with short term as to not lose their prime contract years. All this stuff about the KHL and off-ice issues is just window dressing by agents and media. I respect that TNSE is very confidential but you are a main connection to the teams inner workings for most of us and we have heard virtually nothing from you. Ideas like moving Enstrom for a top 6 forward if he's not in the long term plans are good for conversation and help fill the gap. I would like to get a little bit of real info like..............
1. Did any of the draft eligible players get invited to Winnipeg?
2. Is Scheiffle involved in any strength program? (ala Gary Roberts)
3. Tell Cloutier that Bogosian is not going anywhere. Especially not for MPS/Omark!
O.K., point three isn't info, just a wish. Seriously though, with the start of the season up in the air and no Cap number in place and modifications to be made to the CBA, I feel the RFA's might not get done till close to traing camp. Whenever that might be!

Go read 30 thoughts. Look at the fact other teams are signing role players such as Boston yesterday and ask why it's so quiet for Winnipeg?

1. Chevy and chief scouts were all at combine but I have not heard a thing if anyone came to Winnipeg.
2. Scheifele was reported to be working all season on strength as conditioning- hopefully more so and biosteel would be a good choice.
3. Bogosian was never on the block and not should he be.

The real news here is that there is NO news, leaks, anything!! it's total lockdown and from everyone I have spoken to they all say the same thing.

Oh Ladd is in town still and Glass had a good trip to India.

Pavelec and Kane are not role players. There is obviously going to be a little more work to get these guys done. Look at guys like Doughty and Schenn last year.

Chipman hasn't done anything through the press in the past why would he start now. Should Montreal be worried about Price? How about Schneider in Vancouver?

I think the lack of information is due to one main factor Peter.

1. This is TNSE and, as you know, they might be the most tight-lipped organization in the NHL, so in not receiving information it's just par for the course in Winnipeg.

As fun as it is to speculate about whether there is or is not an issue with the negotiations in regards to Pavelec and Kane, I think we might be jumping the gun just a bit in this situation.

One thing is for sure, I will be very interested to see what Kane gets in terms of contract. What does a 20-year-old player whose goal total has risen steadily (14,19,30) over his first three seasons warrant ? What does this future contract pay him as ? A 35-goal scorer ? 40 ? You would have to think that he should reach 35 in this upcoming season, if not 40. What about term ?

I have no doubt that the team will sign both of these players. It's just a matter of when and how much.

I also agree whole-heartedly that the idea Bogosian could ever be dealt for anything less than the Oilers 1st overall pick is deluded. I really do not care to hear any more about the value of MPS/Omark/Hemsky/Gagne etc. unless you have a firm grasp on reality, thank you.

It will be interesting to see just how much the fact that Nash is available will affect the negotiations teams have with Parise.

Getting either to come to Winnipeg would be difficult to say the least, but we can dream can't we ?

Pav > Schnei. Though he'll always hold a special place in my heart from the AHL finals run with the Moose in 09 (I think?).
